Championship preview and odds: Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Leeds United

December 17, 2015 19:45pm - Molineux Stadium

Championship

Two former top-flight clubs will go head-to-head on Thursday night when Wolverhampton Wanderers welcome Leeds United to the Molineux Stadium in the Championship.

Two wins in 10 for Wolves

Wolves fans may have been hoping for a promotion push this term but Kenny Jackett`s men have so far failed to make any in roads on the top six. A poor record of just two wins at home has played a significant part in their failure to rise up the table. They currently sit in 14th place in the table just two points ahead of their visitors.

The Wanderers have won just two of their last 10 Championship games, having also lost four and drawn four. All four of those draws came in the last five games. In their latest fixture, they played out a 1-1 draw at home to Nottingham Forest. That was their third straight draw on home soil and the fifth game in a row that they have failed to win at the Molineux.

Leeds better on the road

Leeds United have lost just twice on their travels this season, with three wins and five draws making up their respectable away record. Unfortunately, their poor home form has prevented them from making any significant progress up the table. They currently sit in 18th position in the table with a seven-point cushion over the relegation places.

They come into this game on the back of goalless draw away to Charlton Athletic. Prior to that, they secured an impressive home win against title candidates Hull City.

Team news

Striker Adam La Fondre is expected to start again for Wolves ahead of Benik Afobe who was dropped for the last two matches.

Meanwhile, Leeds have been informed that right-back Gaetano Beradi faces eight weeks on the side-lines after suffering a torn ankle ligament.
