What a difference a month can make. Just over a month ago, West Ham united were beaten 3-0 at home by Burnley in a game that saw fan protests against the owners and several pitch invasions. Thankfully, the international break that followed gave David Moyes and his men time to compose themselves as they continued their battle against relegation.

The home sides next appearance at the much-maligned London Stadium resulted in a 3-0 win over Southampton, a result that eased some of the tension in the air. To lift the gloom further, they followed that up with a 1-1 draw away to Chelsea. They come into this game six point clear of the drop zone with six games to play.

With the team in buoyant mood, they will look to move one step further closer to safety with a win over beleaguered Stoke City.

The visitors will look to put in a late winning run as they fight for Premier League survival. They are six points from safety but have the worst goal difference in the division. And with just five games left to play, things are looking bleak for Paul Lamberts men.

The former Aston Villa boss took over from Mark Hughes in January but has been unable to revive the fortunes of the ailing team. Another defeat on Monday would leave them staring into the abyss of Championship football.

Midfielder Charlie Adam is suspended and will sit this one out.
