Manchester City`s Premier League title defence looks more impossible each week but the club will not give up it is mathematically so. They can move to within 11 points of leaders Liverpool with a win on Saturday, although the Reds would have two games in hand.

The Sky Blues are in good form having won five of their last six Premier League matches. They come into this on the back of a 6-1 win away to Aston Villa and a 3-1 League Cup win away to Manchester United.

Unlike Liverpool, City are still battling on all four fronts so could find themselves stretched in the coming weeks. However, rivals will have little sympathy for a club who boast the best strength and depth in the division.

Out to frustrate Guardiola`s men will be Crystal Palace. The South London club have lost just one of their last nine Premier League matches but their last three all ended in 1-1 draws. Away from home, they have lost just two of their last eight, having also drawn four and won at Burnley.

On their last visit to the Etihad, the Eagles earned a chock 3-2 win. That was their first win away against City since 1990.

Betting odds and tips

Palace are tough to beat on the road but City looked almost back to their best and are odds-on for the win. There is little value in backing the home side. However, it is not often you get offered the draw at 11/1 and Palaces away form has to be taken into consideration. As a result, a small stake on the stalemate might be worth considering.
