Two sides jostling for mid-table places will go head-to-head on Sunday as Leeds welcome Preston North End to Elland Road in the Championship.

Leeds looking to extend unbeaten run

Leeds will have chance of penetrating the top half of the table if they can bag their third win in four games in front of a home crowd on Sunday. The Yorkshire-based club has shown some signs of improvement since Steve Evans took over as boss back in October. They had won just two of their 11 league games when he arrived but have won four out of ten since.

Last time out, the Whites secured an away win against 17th-ranked Wolverhampton Wanderers. Prior to that they drew away at Charlton and beat high-flying Hull on home soil.

One defeat in 11 for Preston

Preston North End can leapfrog opponents Leeds United with a win on Sunday afternoon. Despite being in the bottom half of the table, The Lilywhites have lost just one of their last 11 championship matches, having won four and drawn the other six.

They come into this game on the back of 1-1 at home to Birmingham that extended their unbeaten run to four games. Prior to that they enjoyed back-to-back wins over Reading at home and Burnley away.

Team news

Leeds will be hoping that midfielder Tom Adeyemi can recover from illness in time for this clash.

Meanwhile, Simon Grayson will have to make do without Chris Humphrey (shin), Stevie May (knee) and Jermaine Beckford (knee).
