La Liga preview and odds: Real Betis vs Las Palmas

April 19, 2016 21:00pm - Estadio Benito Villamarin

La Liga

Two teams who have risen clear of danger at the bottom of the league table will go head-to-head on Tuesday night as 14th-ranked Real Betis welcome 11th-ranked Las Palmas to Estadio Benito Villamarin in La Liga.

One defeat in seven at home for Betis

Real Betis have lost just one of their last seven home matches in La Liga, having won three and drawn the other three. As a result, Juan Merino`s men have moved nine points clear of the relegation places and look set to continue in La Liga for another season.

Remarkably, the team from Sevilla has only managed to score more than one goal at home in the league on two occasions this term. In their last game, they played out a 1-1 draw away to Celta de Vigo. Prior to that, they edged to a 1-0 victory at home to Leavante in yet another low-scoring game.

Las Palmas looking for top-half finish

Las Palmas were one of the favourites to be relegated at the start of the season but now look to be on course for what would be a remarkable top-10 finish.

The Canary Islanders have won six of their last eight league matches, with the only defeat coming at the hands of title hopefuls Real Madrid. After waiting 15 years for a La Liga win on the mainland, Quique Setien`s men have now bagged four on the trot and will be looking to make it five on Tuesday night.

Team news

The home side have several players out of contention due to injury including Jorge Molina, Didier Digard, Juan Vargas and Cristiano Piccini.

Likewise, the visitors also have injury concerns with Nili, Aythami Artiles, Wakaso Mubarak and Javi Castellano all likely to miss out.
