Hull City vs Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League preview and odds

May 21, 2017 15:00pm - KCOM Stadium

Premier League

Already-relegated Hull City will look to bow out on a positive note when they welcome Premier League runners-up Tottenham Hotspur to the KCOM Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Headline

After a spirited start to their Premier League survival quest under the guidance of Marco Silva, Hull City fell apart at the crucial stage and will now return to the second tier of English football.

The killer blow was a 0-2 home defeat to bottom of the pile Sunderland that handed the advantage to rivals Swansea City. A win at Crystal Palace in the next game would have given the Tigers a lifeline heading into the final round but instead they fell whimpering to a 4-0 defeat.

The East Yorkshire club have failed to score in any of their last three games but at least have a respectable home record to cling on to, having won six of their last eight on Humberside.

Meanwhile, Spurs may have missed on the title when they fell 0-1 at West Ham United, but they have continued to perform well, beating last season`s champions Leicester City 6-1 last time out with star man Harry Kane netting four of the goals.

Maurico Pochettino`s men will travel north having won 11 of their last 12 games and four of their last five away games. Unfortunately their brilliant run of form was still not enough to reel in runaway leaders Chelsea who altready have their fifth league title sewn up.

The Londoners have been strong against the bottom six teams (10 wins from 11) and should head into this game full of confidence having secured their highest League finish since 1963.
