West Bromwich Albion vs Liverpool - Premier League Preview and Odds

April 21st 2018 12:30 – The Hawthorns

Premier League

West Bromwich Albion look certain to be relegated but they proved last weekend that they are fighting until the end when they recorded an impressive win at Old Trafford. Next up is a home game against Champions League semi-finalists Liverpool.

The Baggies had suffered nine-straight defeats when Darren Moore took over from Alan Pardew in a caretaker role. Since then, they have picked up four points from six and are unbeaten in two. However, they have not won at home since the middle of January, losing four and drawing once since then. The only positive is that they have scored in each of their last seven home games.

The win at Old Trafford also marked their first clean sheet in 10 games but they will be facing one of the league`s most potent strikeforces on Saturday. They beat their opponents 3-2 in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup and drew 0-0 with them in the league meeting at Anfield earlier in the campaign, so they will not hold any fear here.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp has vowed to field a strong team despite having one eye on the Champions League semi-final against Roma next week. The club still need two wins to confirm their entry into next year`s edition of Europe`s elite competition. If they achieve that, it will be the first time since 2007/08 that they have appeared in back-to-back editions of the tournament. The Reds have a good scoring record away from home, having netted in 82% of their games on the road.

On the injury front,Joel Matip, Adam Lallana, Emre Can and Joe Gomez will all miss out but Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane are all fit to play.

Betting odds and tips

West Brom performed well at Old Trafford last week but Liverpool are pushing for a top four finish and will want to go into their European game on the back of a win. Expect an away win with at least three goals.

Back over 2.5 goals at 4/5 and the away win at 8/15.
