Borussia Dortmund vs Real Madrid - Champions League Group Stage

September 26, 2017 19:45pm - Westfalenstadion

Champions League Group Stage

After losing 3-1 to Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley in the opening game of their campaign, things do not get any easier for Borussia Dortmund as they host reigning champions Real Madrid at the Westfalenstadion on Tuesday night.

Despite enjoy much of the play in London and posing a constant threat going forwards, they were below par defensively and need to rectify that when they face the potent strike force of the Spanish team. The teams were drawn in the same group last season, with both games between the two ending 2-2. And while Dortmund came out on top in the group, it was the team from Madrid who went all the way in the competition, picking up their 11th crown.

Despite their Wembley setback, Borussia Dortmund look in good shape this season and come into this game having won five, drawn one and lost just one of their seven last matches in all competitions. They currently lead the Bundesliga by two clear points ahead of Hoffenheim.

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang comes into this game on the back of a hat-trick that takes his season’s tally to eight in seven games making him a great choice for a anytime goal scorer bet.

Real Madrid may not have had a great start in La Liga but they are the undisputed masters of this competition and will start as favourites here. They got back to winnings ways with a win at Deportivo Alaves at the weekend but the 2-1 scoreline was by no means convincing.

Betting odds and tips

When these two side go head to head, goals can be expected so the Over 3.5 Goals bet looks good here. This result has paid in six of Dortmund`s last seven Champions League games including their last two against Real Madrid. Eight of the Spanish side`s last 13 European matches have also produced this result.

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang should also be considered in the First or Anytime Goal Scorer markets where he is available at 4/6 and 10/3 respectively.

You can back Over 3.5 Goals at 10/11 with Bet365 and Aubameyang to score anytime at 4/6 or first at 10/3, also with Bet365.
