Leicester City vs. Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League Preview and Odds

November 27, 2017 19:45pm - The King Power Stadium

Premier League

Leicester City may not have been setting the world on fire with their performances but they have lost just one of their last seven Premier League matches and have shown small signs of improvement after a poor start to the season. This week, they take on a Tottenham Hotspur side who have picked up just four points from their last four matches, a run that has effectively ruled them out of the title race.

Claude Puel seems to have steadied the ship at Leicester City since taking over the reins from Craig Shakespeare but his side looked less than convincing during last Friday`s 1-1 draw away to West Ham United. The Foxes have failed to win any of their last three games but their only defeat in their seven came against league leaders Manchester City.

Despite showing some improvement, the East Midland side are just four points clear of the drop zone with a total of 14 points. A win on Tuesday could potentially lift them into the top 10 heading into December.

A North London derby defeat and a 1-1 draw at home to West Bromwich Albion has effectively rules Tottenham Hotspur out of the Premier League title race. The Londoners are now 13 points adrift of runaway leaders Manchester City and are currently sat outside of the all-important top four. They have lost their last two league games on the road, at Manchester United and Arsenal, although they have fared much better against the lesser sides.

In stark contrast to their league form, Spurs` Champions League campaign has gotten better than expected with four wins and a draw from five matches including a 3-1 victory over Real Madrid.

Betting odds and tips

Leicester City`s five defeats have all come against top six sides, a statistic that does not bode well for Tuesday night. What`s more, they conceded at least two goals in each of those defeats.

As a result, the away side should be expected to snatch the win here, while scoring at least two goals. However, the home side have netted in 12 of their last 13 home games and can also be expected to find the net.
