La Liga preview and odds: Real Sociedad vs Real Madrid

April 30, 2016 16:00pm - Estadio Municipal de Anoeta

La Liga

Real Sociedad will be pushing for a top-eight finish but could also have a say in the title race, when they welcome title challengers Real Madrid to La Anoeta on Saturday.

La Real looking for strong finish

After a poor start to the season under Scottish Coach David Moyes, Real Sociedad have made steady improvement under former Barca B boss Eusebio, and are still in with a chance of securing a top-eight finish.

In recent weeks, their form has been a bit patchy, although they did manage a home win over Barcelona and a draw away to Villarreal. In total, they have won just two of their last 10 games, having drawn three and lost the other five. On home soil, they have lost just three of their last 12 games, although two of those defeats came in the last three encounters.

Real banking on mistakes from rivals

Real Madrid are still in the title race but will have to rely on their rivals (Atletico Madrid and Barcelona) slipping up if they are to claim first place at the end of the season.

Lo Blancos come into this game on the back of a nine-game winning streak that culminated in a narrow 3-2 victory away to Rayo Vallecano last time out. The Both Teams to Score bet has paid out in all of their last nine La Liga away games.

Team news

The home side have been hampered by injuries over the last few recent weeks, and will once again have to make do without Granero, Jonathas, De La Bella, Carlos Martinez, Eneko Capilla, Agirretxe and Sergio Canales.

Meanwhile, the visitors will have to wait to see if Cristiano Ronaldo can recover in time for this game.
