Premier League preview and odds: Man City vs. Norwich City

October 31, 2015 15:00pm - Etihad Stadium

Premier League

Norwich will have their work cut out if they are to end their five-game unbeaten run this weekend as they face a difficult trip to the Etihad Stadium to face league leaders Manchester City in the Barclays Premier League. City still on top despite derby draw

Manuel Pellegrini`s men are still top of the Premier League thanks to superior goal difference following their 0-0 draw against their city rivals at Old Trafford last weekend. The hard-fought point leaves them level on points with Arsenal ahead of this Saturday’s clash with Norwich.

City are now unbeaten in three and will also have been buoyed by their midweek trouncing of Crystal Palace in the Capital One Cup. With just three points separating the top five in the league, the Manchester club will be keen to keep the pressure on their rivals by claiming all three points. In their last four home games in all competitions they have scored a total of 18 goals.

Norwich slipping towards danger zone

Norwich are on a three-game losing streak and are now winless in five Premier League matches. They also lost a tough League Cup via a penalty shootout away to Everton at Goodison Park on Wednesday night. Last weekend they went down by a single goal at home to West Bromwich Albion.

Alex Neil’s side are currently residing in sixteenth place in the league with just nine points to their name. A loss against Manchester City on Saturday could leave the Canaries in the bottom three by the end of the weekend depending on how other results pan out.

Team news

The bad news for City is that their injury list is growing by the week. Pablo Zabaleta and Raheem Sterling are the latest players to have entered the treatment room. They join existing casualties Samir Nasri, Sergio Aguero and Fabian Delph on the list of definite absentees for the next game. Meanwhile, David Silva and Gael Clichy both remain doubtful.

Norwich City have the luxury of a fully fit squad to choose from for this game.

Betting odds and tips

There is only one result expected in this game and that is a home win. Even with a plague of injuries, City should have the quality to overcome their newly-promoted opponents and the short odds reflect that fact. Instead, look at the Over 3.5 Goals market where you can get odds of 6/5 from multiple bookmakers including Skybet. City have bagged 16 goals in their last three home games against domestic opposition.
