Mid-table Chievo will pit their wits against relegation candidates Palermo when the teams meet at Stadio Marc`Antonio Bentegodi on Sunday.
Chievo heading for mid-table finish
Chievo have had an average season in Serie A and that is reflected by their average league position. Their current total of 38 points has lifted them to ninth place in the table, but they remain closer to the relegation positions than the European qualifying places.
The team from Verona have lost just one of their last six matches on home soil, and that defeat came at the hands of Title favourites Juventus. In their last match, they secured an impressive 1-0 win away from home at Sampdoria, and prior to that, they held AC Milan to a draw at home.
Palermo winless in nine
A run of nine games without a win has left Palermo third from bottom in the league with the shadow of relegation looming large.
The Sicilian side have scored just one goal in their last five games and have shown no signs that they might recover from their current slump. In their last match, they followed up recent defeats to Inter and Napoli by holding 11th-ranked Empoli to a goalless draw away from home. Only Frosinone have conceded more goals this season than the islanders.

The home side will have to operate without the services of Roberto Inglese, Alessandro Gamberini and Mariano Izco.
Meanwhile, Edoardo Goldaniga is the only confirmed absentee for the visitors.
