Bayern Munich vs Liverpool - Audi Cup Preview and Odds

August 01, 2017 16:45pm - The Allianz Arena, Munich

Pre-season Friendly

Bayern Munich will look to give their home fans something to cheer about when they host Jurgen Klopp`s Liverpool at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday.

The reigning Bundesliga champions haven`t had a great pre-season campaign so far, having won one and lost three of their International Champions Cup matches. What`s more, a `goals against` count of 10 from five games won`t have given their fans much joy.

Two of those defeats came again the Italian pair of AC Milan (4-0) and Inter (2-0), while the third came against English side Arsenal who beat them via a penalty shootout. Their sole win (against Chelsea) finished 3-2 and raised some further question marks about their defensive credentials ahead of the new campaign.

Of course, pre-season does not always tell the full story of how a team will function once they return to the competitive sphere, and Bayern Munich fans will be hoping that it will be normal service resumed when they face Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup nest week. New recruits, Corentin Tolisso, James Rodriguez, Niklas Sule, Serge Gnabry and Sebastian Rudy could all feature at some point during this mini-tournament.

Liverpool fans have had much more enjoyable summer, watching their team winning five and drawing one of their six pre-season games, scoring 15 goals in the process. To add to their positivity, new signings Dominic Solanke and Mohamed Salah have both settled in well and got their names on the scoresheet, while Andrew Robertson made his bow in the win over Hertha Berlin last time out.

With some solid performances under their belt, the Reds will be looking forward to this event although the shadow of Phillipe Coutinho`s rumoured departure to Barcelona will be an unwelcome distraction.

Betting odds and tips

Bayern Munich are struggling for clean sheets, so a high profile match against a rampant Liverpool side will probably be the last thing they need right now.

The Reds are in confident mood and will fancy their chances here and they look well priced to grab a win at 9/2. Despite MunichÂ’s lacklustre displays, they have score in their last 27 appearances at the Allianz Arena, so a home goal should be expected at some point.

You can back Liverpool to win and Both Teams to Score at 15/2 with Bet365.
