A record of just one win in their last seven matches has all but ended Everton`s European aspirations. A seventh place finish is still a realistic target, but Tuesday opponents Leicester City have their eye on the same prize.

Marco Silva`s men ended the year with exactly the same point`s tally as they did the last two seasons - a stat that will underwhelm Everton fans who had been hoping for improvement this term.

Despite some significant spending (by their own standards) over the last two years, there has been little for the Goodison faithful to cheer about on the pitch. It was hoped they would push on under their new Portuguese boss, but the season already has a familiar feel of another false dawn.

On a positive note, their home form has been respectable with five wins, three draws and two defeats from the opening half of the campaign. However, they come into this game winless in their last three at home.

Last time out, the Toffees fell 1-0 away to Brighton to cap off a miserable December which yielded five points from a possible 21.

Meanwhile, Leicester City are just one point and two league places better off than their opponents. They surprised everyone by beating Chelsea away and Manchester City at home in the space of four days, but followed that up with a defeat at home to strugglers Cardiff City.

On the road, the Foxes have lost just one of their last five, a 1-0 defeat at Crystal Palace, and all five matches ended with Under 2.5 Goals.

Everton have been tough to beat at home, while Claude Puel`s men have also been dogged on the road. Expect a tight game as both sides jostle for league position.

With little to separate the two the Draw looks the best bet with 1-1 an attractive option at 6/1.
